How to book a pickleball court in Thailand

Forget booking websites. In Thailand, pickleball reservations happen on Line — and the whole process takes about 10 minutes once you know the steps.

The short answer

Nearly every pickleball court in Thailand takes bookings over Line, the country's dominant messaging app. You find a court, add the club on Line, send a short message with your date/time/number of players, and pay on arrival in cash. There is usually no website, no booking portal, and no need to speak Thai.

Step-by-step

1

Find a court

Browse the directory and pick a court that fits your area, budget, and preferred surface (indoor/outdoor). Open the listing to see the club's contact details — most include a Line ID.

2

Get the Line ID

Line (line.me) is Thailand's dominant messaging app and the default booking channel for pickleball. Download Line from the App Store or Google Play, create an account with your phone number, and add the club by its Line ID or QR code.

3

Send a booking message

Send a short message in English — Thai clubs handle English fine. A typical booking message looks like: "Hello, can I book 2 courts on Saturday at 9am for 2 hours? Name: John, 4 players." Clubs usually respond within a few hours.

4

Confirm payment method

Most Thai clubs accept cash on arrival. Some require a small deposit via bank transfer or PromptPay to hold the booking — they will send payment details over Line if needed.

5

Show up on time

Arrive 10 minutes early, show the confirmation message if asked, pay any outstanding court fee, and enjoy your game. Most clubs offer paddle rental (฿50–฿150) and free balls.

A sample booking message

Keep your Line message short and specific. Here is a template that works at any Thai pickleball club:

"Hello, I'd like to book a court for Saturday at 9:00am for 2 hours. 4 players, name John. Can you confirm and let me know the total price? Thank you."

Clubs usually reply within a few hours with a confirmation, the total price, and payment instructions if a deposit is required.

What it costs

Court fees in Thailand typically range from ฿100 per hour at local clubs to ฿800 per hour at luxury resort venues. Most fall in the ฿200–฿500 range. Paddle rental adds ฿50–฿150. Balls are almost always included in the court fee.

What if you don't want to book?

You don't have to. Open play sessions are drop-in — no booking, no partner, no reservation. Pay a flat fee (฿100–฿300) at the door and rotate through games with whoever shows up. See our open play guide for the full walkthrough.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Line to book a pickleball court in Thailand?

In most cases, yes. The majority of Thai pickleball clubs manage bookings via Line. A handful of larger clubs offer web-based booking, but Line is by far the most universal channel.

How far in advance should I book a pickleball court in Thailand?

Weekend peak slots (7–10am and 4–7pm) can fill up 2–7 days in advance, especially at popular clubs. Weekday off-peak courts are usually available same-day or next-day.

Do I need to pay a deposit to reserve a court?

Most clubs do not require a deposit — you simply pay on arrival. A few larger or busier clubs ask for a small deposit via bank transfer or PromptPay to secure peak slots.

What if I need to cancel a booking?

Send a Line message as soon as possible. Same-day cancellations are often forgiven for regulars; weekend peak cancellations may forfeit a deposit if one was paid. Policy varies by club.

Can I book a court without speaking Thai?

Yes. Nearly all Thai pickleball clubs handle booking messages in English. Keep your message simple: date, time, duration, number of players, and your name.

Are there apps or websites to book pickleball in Thailand?

A few larger chains offer online booking, but the overwhelming majority of Thai courts still book via Line. For same-day drop-in, open play sessions typically do not require booking at all.

Prefer drop-in to booking?

Open play sessions need no reservation — show up, pay a flat fee, and rotate through games.
